After Tina Gordon qualified 13th for the Craftsman Truck Series Florida Dodge Dealers 250 last Friday at Daytona International Speedway, an early accident contributed to the Cedar Bluff native’s 24th place finish.
While negotiating the first turn on Lap 25, Gordon brushed the wall after avoiding Robert Huffman’s spinout.
The mishap blew two of Gordon’s tires, and combined with later engine problems and a flat tire, Gordon fell out of contention.
“I’m not going to let tonight put a damper on a great week,” said Gordon. “I definitely wished that things could have turned out better, but we just had some unfortunate things happen out there.
“I was so proud of my guys, though, and I couldn’t ask for a better crew than Jerry Cooks and these ThorSport racing guys.”
Next up for Gordon is the EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 200 on March 13 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
