Tina Gordon is back on track after an abbreviated 2003 racing season. According to ThorSport Racing owner Duke Thorson, the Cedar Bluff native has agreed to be the driver for one of his team’s 2004 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series entries. “I can’t begin to say how excited I am to be coming to ThorSport Racing,” said Gordon. “I really look forward to working with Duke and Rhonda Thorson, Jerry Cook and the entire team. I’m definitely glad to be back in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. It’s a great opportunity to be able to run every race.” Last season, Gordon posted two 13th-place finishes in 11 truck event starts, finishing 25th in the drivers’ point standings and fifth in the rookie of the year race. Two of those 11 starts were in trucks from the ThorSport stable that were fielded in consort with Brevak Racing.
In her last start in a ThorSport truck, Gordon qualified 21st and finished 13th in the Federated Auto Parts 200 at the Nashville Superspeedway. Prior to racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Gordon competed in the ARCA RE/Max Series and the NASCAR All-Pro Series. “We’re happy to welcome Tina Gordon to our team in 2004,” said Thorson. “We’re confident that we’ll be able to work together to build a team that can showcase Tina’s driving talent on a full-time basis in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.”
