    Tina Gordon Notes, Quotes:

Tina Gordon is candidate for commission -
    03/31/08

Former NASCAR driver Tina Gordon of Cedar Bluff has set her sights on a new race — the race for the Cherokee County Commission, District 3.

Gordon, who is retired from racing, said she wants to get more involved in public service and help create jobs. “I want to work to bring industry into the county,” she said.

Schools and education also would be top priorities for her if elected, said Gordon, whose son, Seth, is a student at Cedar Bluff High School. “Children are our future and I want to continue with the positive changes in our school system,” she said.

Gordon said she is looking forward to talking with county residents about their concerns and the changes they want to see. “I want to get out and talk to the people of Cherokee County,” she said.

Gordon and her husband, Gary, have started Tina’s Dream Ranch, which is a therapeutic camp for handicapped children and adults. The Gordons have 14 horses now but not all will qualify for the program, which requires gentle horses with a good temperament. “We go through a lot of horses to get the right one,” Gary Gordon said. John Crowell has donated horses.

Gordon said she likes to ride and wanted to give something back to the community with this program. On horseback, the children and adults are the same as any other horseback rider, which helps improve their self-esteem, she said.

Gordon said she is a hard worker and looks forward to working for the people of Cherokee County on the commission. Gordon and her husband Gary own the Extermco company near Cedar Bluff.

    TINA'S DREAM RANCH

Tina Gordon is fulfilling a dream of opening a therapeutic horseback riding camp for handicapped children in her hometown of Cedar Bluff Alabama. The Dream Ranch will officially open April 1, 2008. A new barn is already up and riding corrals are being built now. Tina has 5 horses in place but we need more. If you have a horse you would like to donate or if you are interested in helping in other ways, Please contact us at 256-484-2163.
